Street Closure & Lane Closure

LANE CLOSURE: Monday, March 29 – Thursday, April 1

Dear Downtown Organization Members and Friends:

This notice is provided by the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Saturday, March 27: The Santa Barbara Tea Party will be hosting the Tea Party March / Rally on Saturday, March 27, 2010.  The stated purpose of the March and Rally is to educate and uplift the spirits of Tea Party Supporters.  From 2:30-3:00pm, participants will gather at De La Guerra Plaza.  Then at approximately 3:05pm, participants will leave De La Guerra Plaza, marching north on State Street, east on Anapamu Street and south on Anacapa Street.  After the march, the group intends to hold a brief rally in front of the Courthouse in the 1100 block of Anacapa Street.  SBPD will be utilizing a “Rolling Barricade” to facilitate the march.  Sections of State Street will be intermittently closed to allow the march to pass, but quickly reopened.  Traffic delays can be expected.   Individual intersections should be closed no more than 5-10 minutes at a time.

Carrillo Recreation Center Lane Closure: March 29-April 1: The east bound lanes of the 100 Block of East Carrillo Street (between Anacapa Street and Santa Barbara Street) will be closed Monday, March 29 to Thursday, April 1 from approximately 9 am to 4 pm.  The detour will be south bound Anacapa Street to east bound Canon Perdido Street to north bound Santa Barbara Street.  The lane closures are required for the replacement of a sewer lateral for the Carrillo Recreation Center Rehabilitation Project.  Thank you for your patience during construction.
