She is forced into a marriage with a son of government official whom she does not love. Her heart belongs to a village fisherman’s son but he has been (conveniently) missing at sea for over a year. She can not forget him. She does not want to let him go. On the day of the wedding, the stormy weather approaches, she cannot say “I do”, and she dashes out of a church into rain, arrives at the beach and into water. She’ll die for true love….
